Completed at last! For all of it's lacking qualities and faults, I'm quite proud of myself for this piece, really. It's really pushed me in my watercoloring capabilities.

This is my half of a trade with the incredible (and ever endearing... She treats me better then I deserve) Arwen Bush, of whom I love to pieces. In short, she asked if I could turn one of her characters- a pale skinned, white haired, blue eyed little elfen boy named Skylark- into a Heartless. Ofcourse, designing the little critter was a wee bit challenging... and extremely fun at the same time. I had my KH II strategy guide dog-eared and open at the Bestiary under one hand and print-outs of the little elf scattered all around my art table while I worked.

I'm just thrilled with the turnout. The pose was actually inspired/tweaked from something I found in one of my many Mars mangas, in a situation where Rei slugs Kira's father with a cowboy-styled haymaker punch. It looked really dynamic and caught my eye, so I played around with that base until I'd come up with something that might work for a psychotic creature of darkness. Aside from the (blue) Heartless mark on his tummy, the other torso designs were mimicked from one of Arwen's pictures, where 'Lark is portrayed as a Centaur and has similar patterning. The dark blue leg curlies were inspired by Sora's anti-form, and the wings from that flowy red stuff that flows out like a mane from Dark Thorn. Dark Thorn; you know, that crazy Boss you have to fight that possesses things when it's little and then just beats the crap out of you! XD The general swirlyness was a half-assed attempt to imitate the delicate, smooth lines of Arwen's own style.

XD So... yeah. That random hodge-podge pretty much sums it up! Enjoy!

Image belongs to me, but I give it, ofcourse, to my darling as well. Because she deserves it and much, much more. Skylark as a character is also hers, though I designed this version.
