I've got a lot of catching up to do, huh. XD

I'm still getting used to this newfangled uploading system, but at the very least, I've figured out how to put up new stuff. Re-foldering my old heap o' junk will be tackled in the new week or so... whenever I figure out just how to go about it, that is.

This is another of my concentration pieces from the high school portfolio, and still a personal favorite. I've always adored the concept of transformational artwork, and a stage by stage evolution of character is something I wanted to do for months before this was painted. The first figure is mimicked from an ancient Egyptian narrative scroll (which I used to know by name) of Horus, though the rest is purely imaginative/self created. I rendered it in thin watercolor washes and micron on a marbled sepia paper to try and get that... antique-y effect.

For the record, I hatehateHATE obnoxious watermarks... but since I've become a Gaiaonline junkie in the past few months, I've come to realize that they're desperately needed for practically anything on the interwebs. You wouldn't believe how much stolen work I see floating around the rp forums of people's "original" characters. I've seen Sebychu's work, BeastofOblivion's, Lasaro's (LOOOOOTS of hers)... and a ton of others I can't name off the top of my head. Hell, I've even caught someone mauling MY lines before. Not cool.

Come on, guys; it's not original if you're stealing someone ELSE'S design! D: /end derail.

OKAY ANYWAY.

Do no use/redistribute/etc without permission, and all that copyright related babble.

Flights of Fancy by ~HanyousBlood is aged to look like papyrus and designed to emulate Egypt's hieroglyphic style. The transformation from Egyptian god to the creature of its original basis is a superb idea. (Suggested by ~Skylord and Featured by `cooley)

let burn the flames and through the fire shall souls be cleansed, through suffering we know of joy. for without sadness how can one comprehend happiness? there would be no basis of comaparison and thus all emotions would be the same. a bland existance.

Beautiful transformation. The clothing turning into feathers...feet and hands to claws...those middle figures are great to look at. Also right from the start you can see how it becomes more elegant and curvy than th stiff (but accurate) Egyptian figure.

Beautiful work. The stages flow logically into each other, without one distracting from the other. The details are staggering. As I gaze upon it, I find more and more to appreciate. :D I also found the mottled effect the paper lent the piece attractive.

Which medium did you use...if you don't mind me asking?

My mind is running wild...I've got it tagged to track its movements.
