Artist's Comments

... Oh, the monotonous and generally uninteresting goodness of high school breadth work.

Concerning subject matter I was never a fan of this one; drawing useless dead objects has always been a personal artistic bane. The term "still life" seems almost cruel to call this, as there's really nothing lively or interesting about it. My only point of pride rests with the technical precision of the Sharpie and Micron work for a "cross contour" exercise.

... or something like that.

It's almost sad that I don't fancy this one enough to even waste the typing space of my usual "don't steal" speech. Who in their right mind would even LOOK at this and want to snatch it anyway?

YAY BORING.

what you say about the term "still life" is kind of true, and as you probably know it's just a matter of language...in italian/french/spanish it's called "dead nature", which seems to fit better for me.

but still i like that linocut-like style in here!

I can't believe you think this is boring. It's incredibly dynamic and interesting, and your technical skills are pretty freaking great.

Oh no, you are so very wrong. This picture is fabulous! It has lots of aesthetic value and would look lovely hanging on some modern house's wall decor. Nice "zebra" effect you have going there with the patterns on the shell.

I find it amazing.
